SUBJECT: 7-yr. old always interrupting
My to-be step-daughter is 7 yrs. old. I've noticed recently she is starting to interrupt her dad and I alot when we are talking. I feel like she is constantly asking "what? what did you say?" Her dad will stop our conversation to fill her in on what we are saying. Some times I can understand, but not every time. We never talk about inappropriate things around her, but that's not the point. I feel she is starting a bad habit and it doesn't help her when he encourages the behavior. He said his daughter likes to hang out with us and just wants to be apart of our lives. I love that she likes to hang out with us, but when she is in the other room and walks in asking "what are you talking about?" It can get annoying. I want to say something to her since he won't, but I don't know what to say. Am I wrong? Does she have to be apart of our every conversation to be apart of our lives?
