Hi niza!
The average woman's cycle last for 28 days, that is from the 1st day of their period to the day before the start of their next period. That is your whole cycle. So when I say that the average woman ovulates around day 14 to day 16 that is how many days it has been since her period start. I will use myself as an example The 1st day of my period, which would be day 1 was March the 12th, I ovulated on March the 28th which would be day 17 of my cycle. If I had gotten my period it would have come on April the 9th which would be day 1 of my next cycle. That means that the cycle I just had ended on April the 8th which would be the 28th day of my cycle.
