Sorry guys but this just burns me up---The school is the joke. What do you mean they can't handle a child that is lagging? Isn't it their job to do just that? What if all the children who struggle with this or that are held back? All the children would never get out of K. I'd hold the school responsible to educate my child. Dont let them bully you into a corner. Pre-K is a fun time to explore their world. To learn by play. K gets into the basic number/letter reconition, maybe even sight words. Pre-K, K and grade 1 is all a review of each other. Grade 2 and 3 are also a review of each other. Up to grade three its just the basics. Much you can do at home to help the process of learning basic stuff. And read alot to your children, even after they can read by them selfs.
Good luck to all who have to count on our educational system.
