Don't know if you are still interested in this or if you found out your answer already. I am RH- and this is my 6th pregnancy. In my 1st pregnancy I started to bleed, when to see my Dr. and he gave me my first shot. The way that he explained it to me, was that a negative mother's body will/may reject a positive child. The mother's body sees the child as a foriegn object, and wants to get rid of it.The shot you have to get is really only painful if they give it to you in the hip, ask your nurse to administer the shot in your arm, because it doesn't cause as much pain, or so I have found. I do want to tell you, I did have a miscarriage because I didn't recieve my shot when I was supposed to. So make sure that you get yours, and Good Luck!!!
