SUBJECT: days and nights mixed up in 3 week old
I have a 3 week old, my first, and I am like a walking zombie and welcome any advice! I know infants at this age don't sleep thru the night or have a strict schedule, but I'd settle for just switching her days and nights. During the day, the baby sleeps for 4 hours stretches, wakes up to eat, and falls back to sleep immediately. Then, at about 11pm, she is wide awake! She's very alert, looking around, making noises. But if you put her in her crib or her stroller or her vibrating seat or her swing, she screams! Basically she has to be held. She will eventually fall asleep as she's held, but just when you think she;s sound asleep and put her down, she's screaming! This goes on until somewhere between 7 and 9am every morning. We've tried taking her outside for walks or keeping her up during the day, but no matter what we do or how much noise we make she sleeps all day! We've even tried making it as dark as we can during the day and turning on all the lights at night to try and "trick" her. Any suggestions on how to turn this around?
