 | My son is 2 1/2 years old & has had chronic ear infections since he was 2 weeks old. When he was 15 months he had tubes put in his ears, which have done nothing! He still has ear infections about once a month. His speech is delayed (compared to other 2 1/2 yr olds) because his hearing is being affected. He went back to the Ear, Nose & Throat specialist a few weeks ago for an evaluation. This appointment went horrible, the doctor was so mean to Gage. Gage gets hysterical when doctors look in his ears now (can you blame him?) & the doctor kept yelling at him to stop & told me that I needed to "control" him or the appt was over. He then also proceeded to say that Gage has NOT had a single ear infection since he had the tubes in over a year ago. That all these other doctors are wrong. Mind you he has seen at different times all three doctors in the practice at the PCP office, plus he has also been to the ER several times for the ear infections. So this means that he has seen at least 5-6 other doctors at different times & they all were wrong! I don't think so! I am so frustrated & worried about him. He has another appt with a different EAR, Nose & Throat specialist on Thursday, so hopefully we will get some help there! Any suggestions for anyone, as to why the tubes didn't help him at all? |
