I need some goo advice on what can alter a pregnancy test, please help!

hello 4-4-02

Today I am exactly a week late so i decided to take a pregnancy test. First, should I have taken a test so early??? Second, I am currently on a medicine called Augmentin for an antibiotic. Im not quite sure how strong of a medication it is and Im worried it may have altered the results. The test came out negavtive but Im not so sure. I'm late, had no cramps, nothing. Plus this is my first time taken a test. I would really appreciate if some would help me out and let me know i'm not crazy, haha. thanks
