SUBJECT: VBAC
I recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy by c-section after a long labor. Nothing about the birth was what I wanted execpt the end result: a very healthy baby.

After my water was broken at 41 weeks, I went through 21 hours of labor. I had planned for a natural childbirth, but after 12 hours of contractions, I had only dilated to 4. Exhaustion set in and I got an epidural. It worked for a few hours, but then started to wear off from my hips down. Finally, after 19 hours, I was dilated enough to push. I pushed for 2 and a half hours before they decided that Duncan's head was tilted slightly and wouldn't fit. So we had a c-section.

It took me weeks to come to grips with this and stop feeling like a complete failure. We'd like to have more children (in a few years) but I'd like to avoid a repeat of this experience. Has anyone out there had a vaginal birth after a caesarean? If so, would you mind sharing your experience and what you did to prepare for the VBAC?

Thank you!
