I wouldn't say it was inappropriate, personally, I do not find it offensive at all. We gave birth to our children, but you might want to consider the child's feelings. He is 3 now, but as he gets older (5,6, etc.) is this something he might want out in the open? Even if you keep in a photo album or your bedroom might HE find this offensive someday? Only you know your child, so this would be your call. Just think (only for humor sake)-a big glossy 16X24 hanging over the fireplace when your son is 6 and wants his friends over. Just needed to throw a little giggle in there. Seriously though, I just had an old fashioned portrait of my sons. It is in an old fashioned color from the 20's or 30's era and the photographer had them dress according to that time. I am picking them up on Monday. I've already had one done and I absolutely loved it. Another picture you could try is you and your son dressed in white and have the photographer put the "cloud effect" around you and your son. Good luck and enjoy the final results.
