I was on depo for 3 years, off one and then pregnant. That one year was a slow year as me and my husband Really wanted to have a child. But it was only one year. My sister in law was on it for 5 years only off 5 months and now has two wonderful babies. As far as the Dr. telling your friend that after depo there could be no children...he is either a crackpot or there is much more going on with her then she has shared.
Oh yeah before Depo I had the nora-plant inserted in my arm for 3 years to. So I had strong birth control for a long time but it was still possible for me to concieve after. And I can't be just extremely furile because it has taken me and my husband 7 months to concieve the one I'm pregnant with now.
So good luck, I'm sure it will all work just fine!
