SUBJECT: A little frustrated and alot confused...
My son is 7 he has been on Adderall for over a yr now. he is in 1st grade. I held him back last year becuase he just wasnt up with the rest of the class. He started out doing great this new year same teacher at school so he knows the routine and all. I just found out 2 weeks ago that since December sometime he hastn been turning in his homework. He does it,I chcek it every night... but he wont turn it in at school. He lies to his teacher and makes up exscues why he cant turn it in.The whole time it sits in his back pack. I dont understand why he would work so hard to do it and then not turn it in. This is not the only thing he lies about his lieing has gotten very out of control. Its not normal lieing .I mean all kids lie but normally cause they are affraid of getting in trouble... he is lieing about things he wouldnt get in trouble for. I have tried to realy to him telling the truth is best and he can trust me... but nothing I do seems to help. I have tried taking things away and spanking and time outs and talkinig and i feel like i have tried everything ... Maybe the problem is I just dont understand why he wouldnt turn in his work ... I cant allow my son to be held back again I think that would be the worst thing for him...but how do i let him move forward at this point it only gets harder right? Any suggetstions how to further help my son? a smart boy he got a 94 in math but is totally failing everything else.... i am sure all kids with add hve struggles in school... just wondering how to help mine.... Thank you
