 | Hello, I am very confused about my menstrual cycle, ovulation and birth control. Pleas help!!! First of all i want to ask exactly when does ovulation ocurr? I know I have a 31 day cycle, and before I got on birth control I was as regular as you can get. I have always had 7 day heavy periods, which have always come on the same day they are due. After having my first child, I didn't take birth control pills because they made me faint! I was only using condoms, but had sex with my husband only once the day before my period was due. I did this because I thought ovulation ocurrs 14 days before your next period, and I was sure I couldn't have been ovulating that day, but sure enough I became pregnant that one day of unprotected sex. My daughter was only 6mo at the time. Can someone explain what couldv'e happened? How could I have been ovulating? My concern now is that after I had the 2nd child I got on the depo provera, and was on it two years exactly. I had to get off of it in Dec.01 because it was causing me to bleed excessively, like 2 mo straight non stop. I then got on the light dosage birth control pills called Necon 1/35. I started these bc pills on Jan 02, and had breakthrough bleeding from the 27th until the 1rst. I started my normal period on the 2nd and it lasted 6 days, ended on the 7th of Feb. 02. In the month of Feb. I forgot constantly to take the pill at the usual time, and always took them late, but never missed one. I decided to stop taking the pill right when the white pills were next, because me and my husband decided we wanted to try for our last child. Well my period was late, and I didn't get it until the 5th of Feb. 02. I thought I was preg. because I was having bad cramps 2 whole weeks before my period, and I took a pg. test on the 2nd, but it was negative. My period only lasted 3 days, and was very light, I also had this weird mucousy, strechty discharge the day before my period, and it was tinged with pink. What I want to know is, if that discharge was normal, and if taking pills late or abrubtly stopping them causes more cramps? The reason I thought I was pregnant was because I used no protection when I switched from the depo to the pills, but now I come to find that the depo takes a long time to get out of your system. Is this true? I really want to become pregnant soon, can anyone tell me how long it will take for the depo and the pill to get out of my system? When should I expect a regular period, and am I even ovulating? What are my chances of getting pregnant soon? I thought I could because I conceived so quickly with both my children. What do you think? Could there be a slight chance I could be pregnant now, since my period was practically not there? Any suggestions, or advice would help. Thanks. |
