I have a 6/4/2yr olds and 6mos old. And my 4 yr old used to always want mommy in the night to lay down with her until she fell asleep, now she has no problems. Now my 2 yr old wakes up and wants mommy, i just go into her room and pat her to sleep or lay down beside her. I know you are to let them "cry it out" to be independent and sleep on their own, but I could not bear to hear any of my kids scream at night, so i SPOILED them all.
And as they grow older so FAST I don't regret it at all, sure a few restless nights but it was worth it for me to feel I was there for them, and I think they like it that mommy was there too.
And yes my husband always said and still does say that I AM SPOILING THEM LET THEM SLEEP ON THEIR OWN, but I don't care, he was raised differently than I, and the family bond I have is VERY STRONGI don't know if I am doing things right, but it feels right to me, and I love my kids, and they love me so thats good enough in my book.
