I personally don't believe you should let her cio. I would start out by getting her used to it first. I think you should put her to sleep as you normally do andput her in the crib instead of your bed. If you put her in her crib and let her cio from the beginning I think you are creating a bigger problem for yourself because she will associate her crib with crying and feeling alone rather then with sleeping. It will probably take a while but I feel you need to be patient because it is not her fault that she is accustom to sleeping in your bed and could you imagine being so comfortable sleeping with the people you love most and then all of a sudden being taken from that to be alone and cry? My son is 15 months old and I always rocked him to sleep. I never gave bottle/pacifier for sleep and he just started falling asleep on his own 2 weeks ago. There is occasional crying and it is never more than 3 minutes long (on and off). They will transition themselves when they are ready. Good luck to you and I hope everything goes well.Take care.
