"I am a Christian...which means, I believe that homosexuality is wrong. I understand that posting this isn't going to change anyones mind. But I do think that this last post was wrong. She was right when she said the Bible is old..it is. But she was wrong when she says the Bible is outdated. If the Bible is outdated, then why don't we just throw it away? Why listen to any of it? You can't just pick and chose what you want to believe out of the Bible. You either believe it in it's entire form, or not at all. As I said, I believe homosexuality is wrong...but I can also say, I believe it can be overcome. We have a class at our church just for gay/bisexual people who want to overcome that lifestyle and live as Christians. I wish you all luck in what you decide, I will be praying for you all!
Wife4Life"

When poeple speak like this, nomatter how nice they are, I'm always filled with rage... I'll handle this maturely.

Why is homosexuality wrong? Wait I already know. Something wrong is the idea of something bad. Something bad does not benefit the whole, in this case the reproductive cycles of the human species. Thus, because homosexuality does not result in producing children, it is wrong.

Religion is both liberating an limiting. The liberation is obovious, but pales in comparison to how much it limits a person. Overall, religion refuses to accept change. Finatical christian groups protest against stem cell reseach even though it has the potential to cure diabetes, AIDS, and even cancer. Middle eastern religious groups refuse to use pencil sharpeners and even tractors. More devastating still, it is used as an excuse to hate or hurt others. Look at September 11th: Bin Laden and his group of terrorists used the Islamic faith as an excuse to kill thousands of people. Some Christians use their own faith as an excuse to hate and hurt gays.
That is what is truely wrong.

You have as much control over your sexuality as you do in your taste in art. Most people in today's world like to listen to songs with lyrics. I, personally, do not. At my middle school I would never tell anyone that because when I did they would use my taste in song to hurt me (physically and mentally) without end. You can force me to like songs with words and even I can try to like them, but in the end what do I truely prefer?

Of course this is definately not limited to religion alone, however it is definately the largest factor.

"If the Bible is outdated, then why don't we just throw it away? Why listen to any of it?"

For the same reason we read the Illiad, Odessy, and epic of Gilgamesh. Personally I hate the Bible. Funny thing is God never mentioned how to handle drug use, yet it is the number one reason why there are gangs, date-rapes, drunk-driving, and life-threatening diseases. Something that devastating must definately "not be important enough" for the bible.
