18 mo old has been sick ever since starting daycare!

My daughter has always stayed at home with my mom since i went back to work at 6 weeks. She has hardly ever been sick. I had to put her in day care for a couple of months while my mom has some minor surgery. She has been sick since starting 2 weeks ago. Runny nose, fever off and on, extreme irritability, sometimes diarrhea. Always cranky and whiny and crying. This is NOTHING like her. She's been to the doctor, but nothing seems to be helping and she seems to get worse everyday. I want to take her out of day care but my husband wants to wait it out. Help?

My first son was the same way, and that was 12yrs ago. My mother took care of him until the age of 3. I put him into daycare/preschool and he got sick the same way. Just wait it out, his immunites will get stronger as time goes on. I am now running into the same problem with my 16 month old who is now in a Family home daycare with 10 other children. He is experiencing the same thing as your daughter. I cant tell you how many times in the past 11 months that we have been to the doctors office. He is really cranky and pulling temper tantrums now as well as the running nose off and on. I can only say hang in there it gets a little better. Before you know it the terrible two's will be there with a whole new world of problems.
