I had my first child at 16 and he is now 8 years old and I wouldn't take it back for the world. I suffer from deppression and obsessive comulsive disorder with anxiety. I realized something was wrong with me after my son was born and had an extremely difficult time with postpartum deppression on top of my normal issues which is common. I went on zoloft and then to paxil and found that it helps a great deal. Now I am expecting again (i'm 32 weeks) and find myself having difficulties as I chose to be med free. My doctor has suggested to begin my meds at 36 weeks as at that time you are safe to deliver and baby is ready to be born. I know this is a smart thing for myself to do as I feel extremely deppressed and my ocd's are high and have been throughout this pregnancy. maybe talk to your docotr about treatment to prepare yourself for afterwards, it could make the postpartum deppression more bareable and help you enjoy your new baby more. best of luck to you and congradulations :)
