My son is 6 years old, and sounds alot like yours. At our first teacher conference we were told he couldn't recognize letters, count up to 14, or say his days of the weeks. I found that very interesting considering he had done all of these things at home ,when we asked what he did in school that day. Everyone says he is a bright child and very advanced for his age in his vocabulary and thinking. The teacher said she just didn't get him. The class was asked why in the pioneer days they had to hang their clothes out on a line. My child responded by saying because they didn't have the technology back then. The others said because the didn't have dryers. Is that a reason to not get a child because he talks more advanced than his classmates? My husband and I feel they are trying to make something out of nothing, and time will give him his maturity level. We are feed up with the monthly meetings. Please let me know what you think.
