SUBJECT: Getting 3 month old to nap without holding him the entire time
Hi
I'm new to the message boards. I have a 3 month old son who has been sleeping through the night (knock on wood) since he's 7 wks old. We put him to bed after his bottle anywhere between 9:30 and 10:00 and he sleeps until 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning. Everyone tells us we're so lucky and believe me I know. We are however having trouble with naps. I don't know how to "schedule" nap time for him.

He usually gets really fussy and cries and I end up rocking him to sleep, I'll hold him for about 15 minutes and then try to lay him in his crib. He'll sleep for maybe 20 minutes to half and hour and then he wakes up crying.
I know he is still tired, but he'll only fall back to sleep if I rock him. I can only handle letting him cry in his crib for a few minutes. My husband thinks we should let him "cry it out" but I just can't. I still think he's to small.

Any ideas?? Suggestions?
