SUBJECT: 1 yr old with new sleep problems
HELP!!! My daughter is almost 1 yr old and has just started having sleep problems.
She started sleeping through the night at about 2 mos, she always woke early but I would take what I could get! Noe, over the last 2 weeks she has seemed to develop a new "sleep seperation anxiety". We used to put her in her crib awake but sleepy and she would always go down but now if we try to put her in she clings to us, screams and cries. She has to be REALLY out for us to put her down and when she wakes up during the night, she doesn't go back to sleep on her own like she used to. We have to hold her until she is, again, REALLY out. We tried to let her cry it out...once...she cried for 3 hours (we would go in and try to comfort her) but she wouldn't stop until she was picked up. She will sleep while being held or in our bed but that is something that we don't want to get in the habit of. I would love some advice on this as I've had a total of 7 hours of sleep over 3 days and am at a loss for what to try next. THANKS!
