SUBJECT: 4 yr old boy-How do I dicipline him? Nothing seems to work!
My 4 yr old son has always been the sweetest most loving child..until this past year! He's been getting into trouble at preschool for hitting other kids, for not listening to the teachers and for throwing toys during naptime. At home he refuses to listen at anything I tell him. When I decide to punish him, I will put him in time out but he will keep getting up and walks away-I have to put him back repeatedly. He will scream and cry for a half hour! If I put him in his room, he comes out or throws toys at the door. He will also continue to slam the door. Just this past week he's been home because he's been diagnosed with Asthma and is on meds..he's now started punching me and kicking me! I know part of his aggression may be the meds kicking in..I also had another baby 7 months ago which may be the culprit..Any suggetions?
