 | I am a new mother and I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I have a 6 1/2 month old daughter. She was born 7 weeks premature and looking back, we have always seemed to have some sort of problem with her formula. When she came home, she was on a high calorie formula since she was premature. We kept her on that until about a month old and then the doctor said we could switch to a regular formula. We went with Similac with Iron. After about 2 months, we realized this wasn't working. She would pull her legs up to her chest when eating, she would spit up constantly, she was just in pain and you could see it. We finally ended up on Carnation Good Start Supreme with DHA and ARA and what a blessing. She loved, we loved it, all was good. Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago and she started having diarrhea. At first we thought it might be from food, so we laid off for about a week and the diarrhea was still there. No apparent teeth coming in, so we decided to take her to the doctor because it wasn't going away and she had gotten a terrible rash. She was gaining weight, so that was good, but he switched her to Isomil Soy. We tried one bottle of it and immediately went out and bought Carnation Good Start Soy. She has been on this now for 4 days. Now she is starting to get constipated. I am getting very frustrated by all this and would really love to just give her whole milk, but everywhere I read says wait until she is a year. Of course, all my family says go with what you think. Any advice as to what I can do to help her? Thank you for reading...I know it was a lengthy one! |
