SUBJECT: 18 mo. old waking at night!!!!
Hi... I have an 18 month old who before two weeks ago slept all night with an occasional fussy night here and there but would go back to sleep. Now she is waking up 2 and 3 times a night crying and when I go and get her she wants a drink and she drinks more than a few sips. She acts like she is really thirsty. The doctor says she shouldn't be waking for a drink but it is hard not to go and get her a drink when I know she is thirsty!!! The doctor says I am creating a bad habit and should let her learn how to go back to sleep on her own without me or a sippy. Should I leave a sippy cup of ice water in her crib? I give her milk right now when she wakes, but I was thinking if I put the sippy of water in her crib maybe she wouldn't want to get up for water?!?! Please help...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
