I am the mother of 2 girls...ages 6 and 3. We moved into a brand new home last year, which we later learned is a death trap! Since moving here, our basement constantly floods, and has caused black mold to grow everywhere, including my living room. My children have never been sick, other than a cold here or there, in their lives. Since moving here, my kids are sick every day. My oldest has had pneumonia 2 times now, and my youngest now has kidney disease and needs surgery to correct it. I too have been ill, along with my mother and 14 yr old sister, who live right next door. I found out on Feb 3rd that I was expecting my 3rd child. I was thrilled to death to have a new baby coming. I have never had any complications ever with my other 2 pregnancies. I had the board of health come out on the 10th to do a repeat air test for mold in the apartments. I asked about the risk of my baby having something wrong, and she told me that the baby can be born with brain damage, missing limbs, or worse, not be born at all. On Feb 13th...2 days ago, I took a nap with my family, only to wake up with bad cramping.... I went to the bathroom and found blood everywhere. I went straight to the ER, only to find that I had lost my baby. I was 9 weeks along. Please...tell your friend to seal off her closet, and get a professional in there to clean it. She can also request the board of health to come out and do a test to see if it is mold, and what kind. I wish her luck, and will keep her in my prayers that what happened to me doesnt happen to her.
