I lost my baby just 5 days ago. I too am greiving but it is not yet in full swing, presently I still feel slightly numb and I am waiting for the avalanche of emotions to kick in. This is my second loss in 5 months. My first miscarriage was at 5 and a half weeks where there was a sac but no embryo. the second however was the most devastating. I was scared as I started cramping and then 24 hours later started bleeding. I was 11 and a half weeks but my baby was only 10 weeks. I knew as soon as I couldn't see babys heartbeat on the screen. I cried there and then. I had a d&c in both cases as I suffered so much pain, bleeding and no dilation of the cervix. I would advise anyone wanting closure and less pain physically and emotionally to have this procedure done as it helps to start putting closure to it and to enable the greiving process to begin. I am finding it hard as I allowed myself to get excited and tell all my family and friends at 11 weeks. My 10 year old daughter"s heart is broken and I am finding it excruciating to watch her go through this again. I have decided I will not put her or my husband through it again. I have an ache in my heart that I guess will always be there, an emptiness at not being able to be a mother again. I feel guilty I put her through it a second time and I am having trouble facing people and hearing "what was baby's sex" or "oh well its for the best" and as for the endless amounts of telephone calls my answering machine is full. On a brighter note I cherish my girl even more and I know that time will ease my pain.This web site is going to be one of my saviours I think. To all who have shared and listened thankyou for being brave enough to inspire me to use your experiences to allow me to open up and talk.
