I have a 18 month old and she went through this phase. The one thing that I have always been able to get her to eat was apple sauce & some type of baby cereal. I buy every flavor of apple sauce in the adult canned fruit section at the grocery store. They have bananna, strawberry, strawberry/bananna, peach, plain, etc. Of course if you haven't started with cereals yet, start with Rice. I've tried them all, Barley, Oatmeal, Mixed & Rice.

I put the apple sauce in a bowl and add approx. 1/4 cup cereal. Sometimes it gets too thick, so I add a little milk/formula. You can adjust the measurements to suit your babies needs. When my little one wouldn't eat anything else, she would eat this and I felt like she was getting nutrients from the apple sauce & cereal.

It's hard when they have no teeth. My dd was 11 months old when she finally got her first tooth. She now has 6 front teeth, 1 jaw tooth and 3 more jaw teeth peaking through. We're having fun cutting 3 jaw teeth back to back :)

I hope some of this helps.

Good Luck,

Gwen

PS You can also use flavored yogurt instead of apple sauce.
