My son is 15 months old and uses a "sound machine". He will sleep in the car and will sometimes fall asleep other places. I think I am more dependent on it than he is! We live by a train track and that horn blows every morning at 5:30 and wakes me up... I don't want it to wake him up! I think that it is fine to use. My son sleeps very well and takes a good nap and is a happy baby...I don't think it is a problem. He does associate it with sleep and that is fine with me.When it goes on his head goes down and he goes to sleep! What more could I ask for! If you are worried about it then I would stop its use now! Same thing with a binky etc. My son was taken off of the binky at 6 months and the bottle at 12 because I did not want these to become habits so I know how you feel...do what is best for you and your child. But the sooner the better in my eyes! Good luck to you and congratulations on your baby!
