AUTHOR: Dinduk | | | I am 32. I had 3 miscarriages before giving birth to my 12 year old son. Almost 10 years later I got pregnant again, my doctors visits went well and he was always able to detect a heartbeat, though it usually took a few minutes. My son was stillborn due to his cord around his neck. 6 months later I became pregnant again. You can imagine my anxiety and fear with this pregnancy. My doctor was not able to get her heartrate with doppler until I was 17 weeks. Every time I would get so scared and almost be in tears. Luckily my doctor always took me to the sonogram room immediately and did a sonogram herself. I was not overweight, but my daughter was just in a strange position. Hang in there and stay positive. Usually a doppler will detect a heartbeat between 9-14 weeks, but sometime (like in my case) it can be longer. My beautiful daughter is now 4 months old!! | |  | |
