SUBJECT: 4 yr old won't stay in her bed - cries till she throws up...
My 4 yr old gets up in the middle of the night crying and comes into our bed. We want to stop this. If she falls asleep and we take her back to bed, she will wake up again and come back. If we try to get her to stay in her bed - she has a tantrum, kicking and crying so hard - that last night she threw up. We stayed with her about an hour last night trying to get her to stay. If we just tell her to stay - she won't listen to us and starts kicking and won't let us hold her. She knows that now she's 4 and she's supposed to stay in her bed - and she tells us that she will stay in her bed - but it doesn't happen. I realize that when she wakes up during the night - she's groggy and not herself. In the morning she's as cheerful and happy as ever. Our backs are killing us from having her in bed with us - I suppose this is a very common problem - from the amount of posts to this topic - but any suggestions?
