SUBJECT: Is the Hepatitis B vaccine standard at birth now???
I was shocked when I delivered my daughter and they wanted to do a Hepatitis B vaccine at birth. It had been 12 years since I had a baby and they did not do any vaccines at birth then. I am curious to know if it is just Nevada or if this is now common practice. I refused this vaccine and you would of thought the world was ending the way the nurses reacted. They even tried to get my husband to sign the release form after I refused. I believe in vaccines, I just prefer to wait until 4 months to start. My first son almost died from his vaccines at 8 weeks, but then he was also 6 weeks premature. My Pediatrician supports my decision and we have an appointment tomorrow for my daughters first shots. She is 4 months today. I am very nervous about it.
