i too had a miscarriage and saw our little baby! i was at 8 weeks, this was my third mis. and so the dr. had kept a close eye on me and the little baby so i had an ultrasound every week and it was VERY hard to of watched him (i have a son and a daughter and i just knew it was a boy!)grow for 8 weeks. first the sack, then the yolk sac, then heartbeat at 43 bpm and then tiny arms and legs! everything was going right along perfect on a friday's ultrasound then on monday another ultrasound--no heartbeat! it was like for weeks i had seen the light of it's soul flicker so fast and strong then just silents! it was like my whom was cold and empty now! this was my 3rd miscarriage and i had already had one d and c and was too scared of being put to sleep again so i opted to go home and pass it on my own-plus i made a flower garden (i call it 'the babies' garden) and i wanted to see it and not just let the dr. throw it away. i burried it in that garden with the other one(first misc, iwas 11 weeks baby died at 8 weeks, so after d and c i asked to bring it home and burry it and you can believe i got some wierd looks but that was what was important to me and it has helped me to deal with my losses! the second misc. was at 5 weeks so i couldn't burry it b/c it was just way too early it was like a heavy period and i was too small i couldn't see it yet) i didn't get to see my 1st b/c of the procedure-well i just had to look in the white bowl they gave me because i couldn't live with the thought i burried it and didn't ssee it. needless to say b/c of the d and c it didn't look like anything. but i know it was real and has a soul and is in heaven now! back to the 3rd one-after the ultrasound confirming it had died i misc. 5 days later. it was like real contractions! not as bad though! i would double over for a few minutes then i would be fine then it would come again. after about an hour of that i felt something come out and ran to the bathroom and i saw a little sac that looked like a large grape in size. and i just had to open it! it had some liquid comming out amniotic fluid, then i saw it!! it looked just like the pictures in books look like at 8 weeks. it had little lines on its hands where fingers had started to developed! i seen the backbone and like a long vien running down it. it was such a sad day! then the after birth came out. i had 3 misc. in 2001. needless to say i had a dumb dr. that kept telling me to 'try again' so i found a new better one and he cared enough to see what was wrong(i have had 2 kids with no problems so he knew it probly wasn't nothing wrong with all 3! he determined i needed projesterone suppliments and 2 months later i got pregnant with my son and with many blood tests, weekly ultrasounds till 9 weeksnot to mention many many worried times then finelly i had my 3rd mirracle, i will always remember the ones that live under my heart for such a short time. but as i hold my mirracle, who is 7 months old today, i know it was worth the wait!! good luck with all who feel hopeless like i did for a year. but remember it will happen!
