constipation

i'm a new mom and i need help.... my doctor and i don't see eye to eye on bm movements. i believe my child should go every day and 1 to 3 x's a day. am i expecting too much?????? my daughter is 2 1/2 months old. she only goes to the bathroom once, twice a day if we are lucky. the doctor says that she's not constipated unless she doesn't go for 4 days. she's fussy when she doesn't go twice a day. the doctor told me to put 1 tsp dark kayro syrup in her bottle 4x's a day. she still only goes once, maybe twice a day. she's on good start carnation soy formula. milk based milk torn her stomach up. she had a bm several times a day but she screamed after every bottle and she passed alot of gas. now that she is on soy SHE IS LIKE A DIFFERENT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is there any advice out there to help our situation. any advice would be helpful. thanks in advance.
