They will remove the cerclage once you are near term unless they are planning a C section. A cerclage alone is not a reason to be sectioned, so they will let you deliver vaginally unless there is another reason not to do so. An incompetent cervix is not a damaged one, but an anatomical abnormality and you will mostly likely need a cerclage w/any subsequent pregnancies. This is usually a successful procedure if it's done before much cervical dilation occurs, which shouldn't be an issue since your physician will be aware of your history. Hope this helps!
