I think that you can do lots of reading and strategizing, but at this age they have opinions and know exactly what's going on, so all of those books will not work. They do work for infants. At this stage, I suspect that only crying it out will work. The 15 month old will probably work herself into hysterics, but she wear herself out. How about waiting until summer when the school age children don't have a schedule? Or have one parent take the school age children on a one week vacation (or stay with a relative) while the other parent stays home and lets the young ones cry it out every night. It really doesn't take that long. My 2 yo lasted 4 nights, and my infant (I did it earlier the 2nd time around) last 2 nights. Put your earplugs in, close the doors, and hunker down. It's hard but very short lived.
