I know this is an old post but I thought you might like to hear a little story. My sister had unintelligible speech until she was 5 years old. She had some problems with reading in elementary school (almost was held back) but finally caught up in junior high. She was always a hard worker and very persistent. She did well enough in high school to earn a scholarship for college. She graduated college (Bachelor's degree)with honors. She has been a nurse for 24 years now.
