i agree with vegman. tho the likelihood a kid feels uncomfy sexually exploring with another kid increases with age difference. four years is a lot. also, it's important to keep in mind that although kids do show and tell on their own and sometimes things they see in the media, acting out sex games (the finger motion of "come here" preceding one masturbating the other) could very well mean that the nine year old has been sexually abused by an adult or older child. like the woman above who said some degree of what might be considered "normal sex play" ruined her life (for example, can affect ability to say 'no,' and create long-lasting shame), it's hard to tell when kids are really into sex play with others their age or not. even something consensual can become non-consensual fast when one kid somehow has somewhat more power than the other kid (age, agressivenesss, being a preferred child in the same family, etc.). it's really important to allow kids the privacy to explore and discover their own sexuality, but it seems like the nine year old might be a little too old to be exploring with a five year old.
