it's important to be body positive and not to instigate shame in our kids about things that we as adults see as sexual and they don't. however, as a girl, i would've been embarrassed to be in the tub with my dad when i was seven. i was embarrassed to be in the tub with my mom not long after that. i don't agree that some parts of our body should be considered "untouchable," but do agree that it can become suddenly embarrassing to be pressed against breasts or soapy thighs when you become aware of them as sexual. to be included in 'the family tub' could be fun for your son for a while, but be sure he takes some baths by himself and always has the option of taking baths by himself, so that he can make the choice, and eventual transition, without having to feel he has to force the issue on his own. otherwise he may let it go on past the point where he's comfortable and eventually feel some degree of uneasiness without saying anything.
