SUBJECT: Cathloic School Academics
I live in NYC and am considering Catholic School. We looked at one Montessori (the only one in the area that goes past 1st grade), and it didn't really seem to fit the Montessori characteristics I've read about (It has no official Montessori affiliation). And it was very $$$$

Anyway, we're looking at Catholic schools. I have no Catholic school experience. How can I find out academically/statistically how the schools rate? I've always been lead to believe that academics are not necessarily their strenghts. I like the atmosphere, discipline, etc. (by the way my husband is not catholic and my daughter is not baptized). But I obviously want her to have a good education. Any thoughts, advice, info would be very helpful.
