SUBJECT: 13 month old losing weight, but is eating....
my 2nd child has been dropping her weight for the last 5 months. To look at her she is healthy and has a round face , when it first started she refused to drink anything,we even tried to trick her and she always spit it out. She was hospitalized for dehydration and the nurses thought that we just was not feeding and making her drink, they soon saw first hand that she would not do it. It took two nurses and dad to hold her down and force a syringe full of liquid in her thoat till she gaged and then swallowed it. It was a nightmare, well we thought that she was doing better and then we went for a well visit and she had lost alomost a full pound in under 3 weeks, she is eating and drinking much better. Well we had to take her back for a weight check two days later and she had gained 21/2 lbs. Nothing changed with her eating that seems like alot of change in just 2 days, anyway we went back for another weight check and she has lost the 2 1/2lbs. I do not understand how a baby can keep going up and down so much in such a little bit of time. If anyone has any answers or any words of encouragement I would love to hear from you, we are sick of this no answers from the Dr.s and on one visit "don't worry it is okay" to the next visit " we are not sure but this is not normal." PLEASE HELP!!!!!
