SUBJECT: coming clean from Birth Control
Hello,

I am a newbie to this but I did have a question. Rather than go to the doctors and ask I have chosen to come here (long story). My husband is on leave with the Military and while on leave I have decided to discontinue the use of birth control pills, to give my body rest. I have been taking them for the greater portion of 5 years, and before then had suffered from very painful and long (8 day) periods. I am curently on my last month if pills and just found out that I will be able to fly to see my husband before he departs for overseas (for a 12-18 month deployment). I guess my question is, how long does it take for the hormones from the Birth control pills to wear off? I have plans to take condoms with spermacide with me on my trip BUT am sure that the possibility of unprotected sex will occur. Is there any advice anyone could give me?
