SUBJECT: Statutory Rape case Please help.
Hi my daughter had oral sex at the age of 15 with a 35 year old man that we let live in our home while he worked for us. We are self employed. This went on in our house for 4 months. She told us about it 4 months after he had left our home and employement. We took her to therapy and then reported it to the police. We are now getting ready for trial. He was offered a plea bargain of 12 years in prison on one account. There are 3 accounts pending even though the oral sex happened about 36 to 48 times. Anyway he doesn't want the plea bargain. He wants a trial. That is what we are going to give him. However this is my problem I am trying to get my daughter to remember dates and what took place. So that we can have the best case against this pervert but she is fighting me on it. I feel confused and helpless. I mean if the parent doesn't do anything then you get into trouble with her. If you try and help her then you get a fight on your hands. I need to find a happy medium. I just feel that you would not go to war with half of your amo so why would you go to trial with not all your amo. I feel really frustrated. Please help.
