Your baby has torticollis. My grandson did also and we were shown exercises by his OT, from the Early Childhood Intervention program. This condition is so much more common because babies sleep exclusively on their backs now. This is what the therapists are seeing. the exercises will help and putting him on his tummy after he can roll over will help. But they will turn back over to their backs because they prefer it. My daughter asked a neurologist about the helmet and he also said No--they only do that if it is very severe and causes deformities in the face also. Get an OT to show you some exercises.
