SUBJECT: Acid Reflux or Protein allergy? Need Advice
My youngest daughter Madison is 3 months old now. When she was three weeks old i stopped breastfeeding because she was having trouble latching on. She was on Infamil with Iron for about a week and it all went downhill from there. She Couldnt sleep in any position for longer than 3-5 minutes. She wouldnt eat and when she would, she'd wake up screeming later and i would notice that she had alot of gas. So i would constantly have to burp her. 4 or 5 times after she would eat. Than she started throwing up after every meal. So i switched her formula to prosobe because i thougt the iron made her to gassy. So anyways, now shes three months old and the doctor said that she has acid reflux. He did an upper GI scope on her and it came back showing nothing. He put her on zantac and a med called redlan. I asked her doctor if maybe we could try a different formula,thinking she might have a protien allergy, he suggested alimentum. Does anyone have any advice for me. Me daugter wont eat, she wont sleep. and i can see it in her face that she hurts really bad. I'm sorry if i didnt get my point accross very good. Thanks, Amy
