SUBJECT: Saw the fetus
I just suffered a miscarriage 2 days ago. I had bad bleeding and went to the emergency room where they did blood work and a vaginal ultrasound. While cleaning up from having the ultrasound done, I found the sac with the fetus inside and freaked out. It looked so healthy to me! I had been bleeding during bowel movements for a couple of weeks, but when the doctor did the first u/s at 6 weeks, we saw and heard a heartbeat. He said not to worry and told me to take a stool softener to make my bowel movements easier. Two days after starting the stool softener I miscarried. I guess my questions are: 1. Has anyone else gone through seeing the fetus after passing it? That was very traumatic and if someone else could share their story, it might help. Also: 2. Was the timing of starting the stool softener and the miscarriage just a coincidence?
