| | | NEXT MESSAGE  | | | | | AUTHOR: | ethansmum | DATE: 01/20/04 7:12am | | SUBJECT: |  10 mths and no naps, tried Weissbluth | | | I have a 10 month old who refuses to nap, a problem that started when he was 8 months old. Prior to this he would take a 2 hr morning nap and a 1 hour afternoon nap.
We sleep trained him for night sleep and it worked beautifully. He falls asleep at 6 pm with no problem and sleeps through until 7 am without waking.
We have/are attempting to sleep train him for naps, but it is not working. We have developed a soothing nap routine, but he cries (sometimes for an hour) before falling asleep, only to stay asleep for exactly 1/2 an hour. He awakes screaming and is cranky for the remaining time he is awake. He does this at both naps. His behavior makes it clearly evident to me that he NEEDS the sleep.
What's going on? and how do I remedy a situation that has lasted 2 months and worsening. We have been trying the Weissbluth method for 3 weeks now! Help!
