My daughter recently became ill with the flu. Unfortunatley she was sick for about 16 days. All the while, taking different meds for her illness. One week she was only there a day and half the next week she was there maybe two and half days. The first problem started when she was given Palgic (an antihistime). Seperation Anxiety - She cried everytime she was dropped off at daycare when she normally LOVES it. Then, Night Terrors (she's completely unaware of this in the morning) for about a week. And in the midst of all of this, picking at her toes and fingers to the point that they become raw! The night terrors seem to have subsided, for now, with the help of Benadryl. The crying however won't stop. Everyday she is not there she asks the same questions, over and over and over again. "Am I going to school tomorrow?", "are you picking me up after nap?", "why do you have to go to work?". If the answer to the first question is yes, she immediately loses interest in whatever it was she was doing and begins the "picking". I'm terrified and confused. I hate to see her so upset but I can't stay home with her everyday. Could it be the "hangover" from so many meds? If so, how long does this last? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. | | | |
