SUBJECT: Paxil and Pregnancy: Should I?
I've been on Paxil for 11 years. My family has many relatives with depression, maybe that is the reason I suffer deppression too.

My husband and I have been married for 4 years (I am 33) and wanted to get pregnant last March. My doctor said that there would be no problem taking paxil during the pregnancy. I asked friends, read articles and everyone said NO WAY!!!!

I told my doctor about it and he decreased the 20 mg daily dossage little by little. During this time I took EXTRA care of myself: excercise, yoga, fruits, veggies, work, prayers, etc... I struggled very hard but didn't make it. Without the medication I couldn't sleep or eat, I was scared, anxious, etc. By June I was back on Paxil.

I am very well now but scared of getting pregnant with Paxil. I don't know for sure what may happen to my baby. I've done alot of research and have read that the children born after a Paxil pregnancy are OK! Maybe they'll have a hard time dealing without the medication after they are born, but they are healthy little boys and girls.

Please keep in touch.

Best wishes,
Claudia
