SUBJECT: Has your doctor given you a kick count chart????
Many doctors do not give their patients kick count charts, or explain the importance of them. It is a simple chart that you sit down twice a day and keep track of how many kicks in short period of time. I wish I would have known this when I was pregnant with my son Matthew. He died just before his birthday (2 days after my due date) due to his umbilical cord being wrapped around his neck twice. When searching for answers and talking to many other mothers of stillborns, we all had something in common, decreased fetal activity near the end. 26,000 babies are year are born stillborn, most at or near full term. It is a myth that babies are not active at the end of pregnancy or that they calm down just before birth. I urge you to speak to your doctor about this.
