SUBJECT: High White Blood Cells Normal?
My son over the holidays became very ill with dengue fever, He was hospitalized and than I was told that he had a very elevated WBC count, after a few days they became to come down and I was able to take my son home and told to do a followup on his WBC count with his regular ped. I did this this week and his WBC was not as high as before, but was somewhat high, my ped told me that there was nothing to worry about that it was normal for a high WBC count for the first year to year and 1/2. Has anyone heard of this? I do realize that this is a medical question, but I just want to know if anyone else has encountered something like this, or there ped has told them the same.
Thanks
