Hi I just wanted to tell you my son has been having breath holding spells since about 4 monthes old he is now almost three. But my son does pass out and four of those times that he passed out he went into a seizure. He has had two eegs, a cat scan, and a ekg. He has seen three neurologists and a cartiologist. Just to let you know he also has what is called severe breath holding, they say he will grow out of it. I too distract him when he starts to hold his breath I talk to him and ask him whats wrong remaining very calm and have been able to stop them all together. But too help you out check out a Dr. by the name of Francis J. DiMario Jr he has done exstensive research. Reading his research gave me more sanity than anything else we have done because he is a Pediactric Neurologist and followed breath holders for nine years for a study, hope this info helps you out.
